Engineering the Future: New Leadership Appointments Drive Project Momentum Forward
As we count down the weeks to the 47th General Convention in Indianapolis, the International Leadership Team is locked in, focused, and ready to turn words into action.
Stepping back into the role of Grand President this past semester has been an absolute honor. Over the last few months, I’ve surveyed our organization, talked with actives and alumni across the country, and looked closely at where we stand. While we face challenges, nothing worthwhile comes easy. To return Sigma Phi Delta to the standard of operational excellence we expect, we must rebuild trust, serve our chapters with transparency, and put the right leaders in the right positions.
To that end, the Supreme Council has officially confirmed a series of key executive and staff appointments designed to execute Project Momentum and modernize our international infrastructure.
Meet the New Appointments
Brother Ethan C. Grose (Beta-Xi) – 18th Executive Secretary & Expansion Manager
Taking on the responsibilities of Chief Operating Officer for the Fraternity, Brother Grose will be instrumental in returning us to a high standard of operational execution—the second major pillar of Project Momentum. Concurrently, Ethan will continue to oversee our expansion portfolio as we push our promising colonies toward full chartering.
Central Province Transition: Brothers Jesus M. Galindo & Joshua R. Hightower (Beta-Gamma)
We owe a massive debt of gratitude to Brother Galindo, who stepped into the Executive Secretary role during a complex technological transition with our ChapterSpot system. Thanks to his work documenting core operational processes, we have a firm foundation for future growth. Jesus will remain on the Supreme Council to finish out the Central Province Director term.
He steps into the vacancy left by Brother Hightower, who has spearheaded incredible initiatives since his election at the 2022 Central Province Retreat. A fantastic career opportunity has taken Josh abroad to Athens, Greece. We wish him the absolute best on this international venture!
Brother Burt "Fish" Wagner (Delta) – Communications Manager
We are thrilled to welcome "Fish" back to international leadership. Having previously served on the Supreme Council as Communications Director from 1997 to 2001, Burt brings invaluable institutional wisdom back to the staff. As we ramp up alumni relations, ensuring that The Castle lands in mailboxes and inboxes consistently every Spring and Fall is a top priority, and Burt is the right brother to lead the charge.
Brother Jeffrey O'Dell (Delta) – Interim Information Systems Manager
Technology is at the core of how we serve modern chapters. Brother O’Dell has been tasked with steering our digital strategy as we face crucial decisions regarding our backend operational platform. Jeff’s extensive background as a technologist in the startup sector will allow us to operate lean, smart, and fast as we engineer a seamless system to replace old infrastructure.
What’s Next: Turning Words into Action
An incredible amount of work is happening behind the scenes as we prepare for the Fall semester. We are actively auditing our national database, finalizing the official fraternity History text, and analyzing vendor performance across the board to ensure you get the support you deserve.
An updated Official Staff Officer Roster will be live on the portal at www.sigmaphidelta.org shortly.
How You Can Get Involved:
- Volunteer Your Talents: We are a lean and hungry organization, and we need dedicated brothers to scale. Check out the latest issue of The Castle for open volunteer roles, and nominate yourself or a brother who is ready to lead.
- Lock In for Convention: The 47th General Convention is right around the corner. If your chapter has not yet submitted its formal Letter of Credentials, do so immediately. Your voice needs to be at the table. If financial barriers are holding your chapter back from attending, reach out to the Supreme Council—we have assistance available, but you have to ask.
Thank you for your continued dedication to our lifelong brotherhood.
Project Momentum marches onward!
